  • My new Blog! Hello Wordpress.

After a short time with Xanga I'm making the move to Wordpress before I get to far with this thing. It's just so much easier and cleaner looking. I've also uploaded Prophoto Blogs which makes life even easier to create, upload and manage. I think there is a blog migration happening and hope you will follow me over. It's still a little rough right now but you can find me at Brian Baker Journal. Please subscribe, add me or change your google reader, bookmarks or whatever you might use to stay updated. Stay with me as I have a lot of posting to do and some fun shoots coming up that you won't want to miss.

See you on the other side,

    Baker

  • Malia

This week we had the pleasure of hanging out with some close friends from the bay area, Brian Keith Brian Keith Fine Art and Lanisa Keith Lanisa.com. Brian is an incredible sculpture and artist. Check out his site for more on him and photos I shot for him and his portfolio. (More of those in another post). Lanisa is a recording artist and an incredible speaker. She happened to be speaking at a couple M.O.P.S groups this week so the boys were left to wearing the kids out. Brian and Lanisa adopted Malia from China a couple years back (they were in the same group with the famed Scott Robert this is how he and I came to meet). They will be on there way once again next month to adopt a boy, Jordan. Here are a few of their beautiful Malia.

  • Grammy's Music Cares person of the year honoring Neil Diamond

Here's the rest! Over the Grammy weekend I had the pleasure to shoot the Music Cares person of the year award show honoring Neil Diamond. This was a who's who night of performances by the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Coldplay, Foofighters, Eric Benet, Chris Cornell, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw just to list a few. The night was brought to a close with Neil himself performing some classics of course ending the night with a killer rendition of America. Truly one of the best shows I've seen in awhile.

    Enjoy,

    Baker

  • Neil Diamond Preview

On Friday I had the opportunity to shoot the Grammy foundations Music cares tribute to Neil Diamond. I'll give a few more details when I put up the "big" post but here are a few to hold over the masses till then. As you'll see it was an all star line up. More to come.

    Enjoy.

  • What A Crazy Road Ahead

Just one photo for this post but over the next few days I will be taking some of my biggest shots to date. I'm going to need your prayers for this one. You see I married the most wonderful girl in the world who just so happens to have a father in the industry. (music/event production) Well, after pursuing my photography for the last few years and improving along the way I was asked to cover an event for him. (see photo below) This was Light of the Angels. A christmas multi-media extravaganza you might say. It was set up in the LA Live square adjacent to Staples Center. I shot the grand opening not as media but as his companies photographer. Needless to say the shot below was used as their company Christmas card sent out to God only knows as far as agents, publicists, heads of Lexus and other large corps. He even has a huge 20X30 print of this framed his offices in Santa Monica. This led to basically being told I'm now the company photographer and to this weeks event. The Grammy foundations Music Cares tribute to Neil Diamond. I don't think I can let the cat out of the bag on who will be performing yet but hold on for the pics in the next few days. Let's just say it's everywhere from a southern rocker turned MC to some young brothers to a guy who has the same name as my youngest. I'll let you do the detective work if you really need to know right now. What a huge opportunity! I don't share this to boast but to ask for your prayer for the next few days. That I would trust in my skills and lean heavily on what I have learned the last couple years. (Thanks Scott!) I truly believe if I can continue to produce exceptional images from these events that it will only lead to the contacts I desire and a continued blessing on this business. What a crazy road ahead. This is only February! I have been let in on some possible things happening later this year and am excited and amazed that I get to be a part of them. Keep your eye out for the post from this weekend.

    Until then,

    Baker
